Northland Youth Theatre’s Te Reo Māori season of Pūkeko Tuawhā by Hinemoana Baker, directed by Noa Campbell. Four Whangārei actors bring to life this sci-fi whakaari, set in the year 2999 where Te Reo Māori is a language of international currency. Suitable for audiences, intermediate age and up. Themes of ambition, sibling rivalry and forgiveness run through the play. Main character Noke has some surprises in store for her older sister, Tuawahine, who always seems to have everything going her way. Supported by a number of clones, Noke puts her great intelligence and technical know-how to use.
