Whangārei’s second-best genderqueer folk act under 20 years old with one member returns to the Fringe for another night of angst, obnoxious left-wing soapboxing and broken strings. This time around, the show hopes to offer a slightly more refined take on Cicada’s blend of folk-punk and folk-rock, now with unashamed pop leanings and (potentially) even more than one person on stage.
