Presenting a rehearsed reading of a new script by local writer Kelly Gilbride.

“If nature is the universal language, then orchids are its most eloquent verse – delicate, diverse and endlessly expressive.”

1978. Kāpia. Northland.

No one has seen the lost orchid of Kāpia gumland in almost a century. Except Mia’s mother. But no one believes her.

When her mother dies, Mia promises to find it and prove everyone wrong. But it’s the largest and most haunted gumland in Aotearoa and she doesn’t know where to start, until one night she gets help from the most unexpected creature…
