Springboard Youth Music 4
Springboard youth music is back baby!! We have another epic lineup sure to delight for one last time in 2024.
This gig aims at giving youth musicians from around te tai tokerau and even further abroad a chance at playing a fun gig in a safe and professional environment (ONEONESIX Whangārei).
The fourth lineup of Springboard youth music consists of 6 inspiring young acts:
Cloud Refinery – Cloud Refinery is an established artist currently based in Whangārei. I pride myself in writing “sad songs, cool songs, real songs.” My influences range from Eliott Smith to Nick Drake, as well as Pixies to Radiohead. CR will be debuting new originals as well as playing at Springboard for the first time.
Flea Miller – Flea Miller is an independent Indie Rock artist born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. In early 2022 Flea started mixing/Mastering and releasing all his music all by himself in his parent’s storage room, later forming CatMan Records straight out of his room. Flea combines elements from ShoeGaze With Midwest emo, Jangle rock and pop to create a blend of noise. Two years later Flea has garnered a small cult following and has now garnered over 60 thousand streams on the title track of his debut e.p Sun Came Down
Aurelia – Aurelia is an alternative rock band from Kerikeri. They started as two friends jamming together and have now grown into a four-piece band. With influences like The Smashing Pumpkins, Radiohead, and My Bloody Valentine, Aurelia is sure to bring a unique sound to the stage.
Isabela Cameron – Isabela Cameron is a soloist from Whangarei but is now based in Christchurch for university. I mostly do covers but I have written some original songs, inspired by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers and Beabadoobee. Sad/bedroom pop style music!
ALOFAU – Anabelle Tuato’o is a Top 20 Finalist from Smokefree Tangata Beats and a Play It Strange Finalist 2024. She’ll be performing originals in English and te reo Māori along with some favourite throw-back covers.
Grove trio – The Grove Trio is a jazz combo lead by Tobias Grove, a 1st year jazz student at Auckland University. He is joined by Vadim Fong on Saxophone and Daniel Kim on drums to present some classic and well known jazz stands and funky tunes.
Doors will open at 6pm, and this epic gig will start at 6:15 pm!! Food and soft drinks will be avaliable at the ONEONESIX bar. So come help support the booming Northland youth music scene by purchasing your tickets right now!!!
