Apirana Taylor has toured nationally and internationally for many years. He was given the 2024 Prime Ministers Literary Award for Achievement in Poetry.

He has held writers residencies at Canterbury and Massey Universities. His poetry has been described as ‘explosive’, ‘powerful’, ‘challenging, and ‘inspiring’.
