Kerikeri Theatre Company proudly presents ‘Blackadder: The Golden Age’, inspired by the BBC’s original TV series, written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, and starring Rowan Atkinson.
Set in Elizabethan England, ‘Blackadder: The Golden Age’ is an age-old story of boy meets girl disguised as a boy, boy falls for boy/girl and questions his sexuality, boy owes money, boy is strapped for cash, boy is kidnapped, boy is in danger of losing his head or suffering an agonising death, boy wins girl, boy… well, you know the rest.
‘Blackadder: The Golden Age’ is an irreverent mash-up of the best characters and scenes from the much-loved television programme, and transports Lord Edmund Blackadder, Baldrick, Lord Percy, Queenie, Nursie, Lord Melchett, and other wonderfully ridiculous characters from the small screen to the stage. The stellar cast is headed up by Kerikeri’s own Tom Evans (Oliver!) in the role of Blackadder, and Hihi’s Lucy Victory (The Sound of Music) as Queenie.
Kerikeri Theatre Company will be touring ‘Blackadder: The Golden Age’ across Northland, including Kerikeri, Whangarei and Kaitaia! Join us for an evening of hilarity, high jinks, and some terribly cunning plans…
