Friday Laughs is a two hour comedy showcase with some of the country’s favourite performers.

Featuring:
Eli Matthewson
As seen on 7 Days, Have You Been Paying Attention, and Dancing with the Stars, Eli Matthewson’s recent Edinburgh Festival debut earned him five-star reviews and several sell-out shows. He has been twice nominated for the Billy T Award and in 2021 was the winner of the prestigious Fred Award.
“topical humour, hilarious anecdotes and huge laughs (…) an absolute breath of fresh air.” – Fresh Fringe (UK)
“Nails every punchline” – NZ Herald

Cori Gonzalez-Macuer
7 Days regular and star of What We Do In The Shadows, Cori Gonzalez-Macuer has been performing his unique brand of self-deprecating observational and deadpan comedy since 2003.
In that time he’s won the Billy T James Award, appeared on film and television, and performed in Australia, America, England, Scotland, Singapore and as far as the Middle East and South America, as well as appearing in Wellington Paranormal and the NZ Comedy Gala.

Lesa Macleod-Whiting
Lesa is a Wellington-based writer, improviser and comedian. She has been a regular on the Wellington improv scene since 2016 and began doing stand-up in July 2020, going on to nab the Runner Up spot at the Wellington Raw Comedy Quest. She has a penchant for characters, accents and fast-paced silliness.
Winner – Best Newcomer – 2020 Wellington Comedy Awards

Whangārei’s own, Kipling DC
Having won ‘BEST JOKE!’ at the 2020 Welly Comedy Awards he guarantees that he has at least one good joke! Audiences are always a little unsure about what is going to happen next as A: Kipling has no idea what he’s going to do next, and B: he quite literally seems to be pulling this all out of thin air.
A captain of silly, and also the 4th best comedian to come out of Whangarei Boys’ High School since Billy T James and 2 other guys

Jerome Chandrahasen
Jerome Chandrahasen is a regular performer in the NZ International Comedy Festival, the NZ Fringe, and has MC’d various events around the country. He has taken his solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, the NZ Fringe, Nelson, and a nice little pub up in Kapiti.
“Chandrahasen’s calibre as a comedian is brilliant; don’t miss anything he might do in the future” – Nelson Mail
