During this workshop the devising process will be broken down to its bare bones, identifying the various stages (Point of Departure, Research, Exploration & Improvisation, Scoring, Performing) – highlighting the opportunities and pitfalls you may encounter on the way.
Participants will be given the opportunity to create short original works in small teams that use a variety of departure points: a specific site or location, an image, an object, a short story, a poem, etc.
This 1-day workshop offers an introduction to the Michael Chekhov acting technique, with a focus on creating quality of vocal and physical actions. The first step in this process is exercising the will or in other words anticipating or imaging one’s actions before executing them. Then, the imagination is inspired to fill these actions with feelings, intentions or imagery.
